When happy-go-lucky Felix is let go from his job, he decides its time to carry out a trip he's been planning for some time; a visit to Marseille, in order to track down his father, whom he's never met whom he doesn't know. But instead of taking the train, Felix decides to do things a little differently, hiking his way down back roads and fields, and borrowing cars at various stages of his journey. But this method quickly leads to a lot of distractions as he meets an array of colourful characters, who gradually become the family he always longed to have.

The journey may not be 'that original' as Félix concedes, but it's suffused with tenderness and warmth.
TimeOut London -
It's sentimental, but not treacly and a nice mixture of the obvious and the surprising.
Philip French, The Guardian
