Lance Daly

Lance Daly was born and educated in Dublin. In 1999, he wrote and directed his first feature film, Last Days in Dublin, on a shoestring budget, on the streets of Dublin, with additional scenes filmed in Paris, New York and Cairo.

Presentation

Daly’s second film, The Halo Effect, starring Stephen Rea, was shot in 2002. The Halo Effect premiered as the closing gala of the Dublin International Film Festival in 2004. It was nominated for five Irish Film and Television Academy awards, including Best Script. Kisses was shot in sections from December 2006 through July 2007 and finished in spring 2008. Kisses was awarded best picture at Galway and Foyle, picked up the audience prize at Miami, and was selected for Locarno, Telluride, Toronto and London film festivals. Daly won best director at the 2009 IFTAs, where Kisses was nominated for 7 awards.
